Las Ruta a Puerto Peñasco, 2024

Archival pigment print, acrylic, graphite, and pencil on archival paper, face-mounted to acrylic
121.9 × 121.9 × 5.1 cm (48 × 48 × 2 in)

Las Ruta a Puerto Peñasco engages with the Hudson River School and the broader American landscape tradition. Created through contemporary digital and painterly processes, the work reflects on expansive spaces and their transformative power while exploring how technology shapes our understanding of landscape, place, perception, and memory.

Drawing upon the visual language of American landscape painting while embracing the possibilities of digital image-making, Las Ruta a Puerto Peñasco positions the landscape as both a physical environment and a constructed experience mediated through contemporary technologies.

The work was selected for exhibition in the 2026 Annual Juried Exhibition at the Biggs Museum of American Art in Dover, Delaware.
